July 22' Edition

Oh hello you!

We are officially halfway through the calendar year and at the beginning of a new financial year!! WOW!!

This month I'll be celebrating 2 years ofĀ full time biz and I actually cannot wrap my head around it. I can't believe I am still here running a business and connecting with some of the most awesome people everyday. And I get to call it work!! I'm feeling truly blessed and I'm really starting to properly believe that it is possible to design your life into whatever you want it to be!!

While there are some really exciting things in the works and things to be celebrated in this new month, June was definitely a funny month for me. I got a huge wave of pretty crippling anxiety pretty early on that has kind of been lingering ever since... even though I've been doing all of the things that usually help me feel a bit more myself. But yesterday for the first time in a whileĀ I woke up with a bit of a pep in my step.Ā The sun was shining, the birds were chirpingĀ and so I'm beginning to think that maybe I've been suffering from a lil case of winter blues. Going into July I'm going to pray for more beautiful sunshiney winter days and maybe I'll start taking my vitamin D supplements again too šŸ˜‚

Although my emotional state has been a little lower than usual, I've been working on some fun personal and client projects which have kept me getting creative and feeling inspired:

I knitted my very first jumper, which I'm super proud of!! (Sneak in the pics above)

I've also been busy wrapping up the branding and website for Rhythm HealthĀ -Ā a massive project that began back in January!! Keep your eyes peeled for theĀ full brandĀ reveal soon.

I've also been busy working on a brand evolution and website redesign with Kollab, shop artwork for Bud of Love and the branding for a stunning new perfume brand.

And I've had some awesome enquiries come through (from some true dream clients) which will be starting over the coming months.

Anyway, enough blabbering, that's enough of a catch up. Let's get into the fun stuff!!

something that's inspired me

This Creative Life Podcast

ā€Episode: All of them!!

I found This Creative Life this month and wow. Danielle has the most candid, real and raw conversations about running a business and being a creative that we're all thinking, but probably don't have enough. I have lots of instagram friends, but not many IRL friends that run their own businesses, so sometimes it can feel pretty lonely and isolating, and you can also begin to think you're the only one going through some things.

Listening to Danielle and her guests has felt like I'm sitting with a group of friends. It's made me feel less alone. It's also been so damn inspiring. Listening to the pod has made me feel so damn excited, grateful and inspired to be in an industry working alongside some incredible women! Design is still such a male dominated industry, but there are so many women out there starting their own businesses and fucking killing it - it makes me so proud!

something i'm trying out

I treated myself to an iPad before EOFY and I'm SO happy with this purchase!!! I feel like it's a tool I've needed in my toolbox for a long time now and OMG I can't believe I've lived without it for this long. As I work a lot with illustration, I feel like the iPad is such a seamless and intuitive way to easily integrate illustration into my project and process.

I can't wait to get stuck in some more, but please send through any reccs for apps or MUST HAVES for iPad if you have them :)

Thank you so much for being here and making it to the end of my newsletter. I know our inboxes can get flooded with ā€˜stuffā€™ so I feel honoured that I have a space in yours šŸ’–
