G'day!

How are you going?? I think I say this every time this newsletter pops around but holy-moly-how-is-it-November!? Gaahhhhhhh!!!

I've officially booked out all my project slots for 2022 and my gosh am I going out with a bang! I'm SUPER DUPER excited to share some of the amazing brands I'm wrapping up the end of the year with. But you'll just have to hold ya horses for a minnie.

I'm already booking projects for early next year so if you or someone you know needs a hand with your branding, get in touch sooner rather than later cos spots are already booking out 😱

Anyway! October was such a beautiful month with a real focus on self care and self love. I started off with a STUNNING yoga retreat, learnt to meditate after dabbling in and out for many years and did lots of things that bought me joy. I hate to mention the weather, but after some super promising, spring-feeling days in early October, Melbourne well and truly turned to shit!! But I think some warmer weather is on the horizon 🌞

I've got a new photoshoot booked in for the end of next week so I can FINALLY update my headshots and people will actually recognise me (kind of shot myself in the foot by changing my hairstyle every 6 months lol). And I'll have some new projects to share with you super soon!!

something that's inspired me

As you may have heard me chat about before, I am a co-creator inthe incredible professional development space,Off-. On Tuesday night we had a wisdom session inside Off- with the incredible Vanessa Muradian. Vanessa is a Sexologist, Embodiment teacher & owner of @miamuse.pleasure. The session had a big focus on how we can cultivate more pleasure in all areas of our lives. But one thing that really stood out for me in the session was this beautiful idea or intention of:

‍"How can I learn to feel like I'm on holiday in my everyday?"

‍Our world really makes us believe that we have to wear ourselves so thin that we need a holiday to fully relax. We'll work ourselves to the bone for 50 weeks of the year, but it's ok because we can use 2 weeks to relax. Like what!?

Why can't we and why shouldn't we have access to this beautiful holiday feeling each and every day? Why can't we live a life that we LOVE?Obviously this is coming from a place of immense privilege (I hope that goes without saying). But I think so many of us end up in a place or a job or a life path because it's what we think we have to do, not because we want to do it. We can truly design our own lives.

So what are some small things (even just one!) that we can implement into our lives to bring more of that holiday feeling to our everyday? Mine is below πŸ˜‹

something i'm trying out

After dabbling in and out of meditation over the years, I've finally implemented a regular daily meditation practice into my routine.I meditate twice a day (most days) for 20 minutes, once as soon as I wake and the other in that mid-arvo slump around 3-4pm. It'sbeen a game changer πŸ₯Ί

I'm feeling so much more myself and feel I am able to deal with day-to-day stresses (especially biz stresses) with somuch more clarity and calm. I am feeling so much more energised and not drained at the end of every day!! I have so much more brain space for creativity and new ideas as well which has been incredible. I'm also sleeping way better which is a MASSIVE bonus for a shitty sleeper like me πŸ€ͺ

As someone who has always been an anxious type, having a tool like meditation to ground me and bring me back into my body every day (along with all of the other things I love like yoga) has been honestly life changing, especially as a business owner.
